Collocations with an expert: Fluency MC

You have it in you!

Nesse vídeo, o genial Jason Levine, Fluency MC, nos mostra algumas Collocations com o verbo "to have".

George's Exploding Wallet

Relying on a wallet as a filing cabinet may present some problems.....Receipts, sweet´n´low packets (tipo adoçante), Irish money, hard candy.. George´s wallet has it all, and it is killing his back, forcing him to lean on one side while eating he then shoves some napking  under the other half of his ass to keep things balanced out.

Word bank:
Rely: contar com
wallet : carteira
filing cabinet: armário
receipts: recibos
sweet´n´low packets: pacotes tipo adoçantes
lean: inclinar

What to  listen for:

1- According to George, everything must go in a case.. you have ____,  _________  and a wallet for $ ( what are the first two);

2- Jerry´s line .."you´ve got more cow here than here.. a wallet is made of leather ( couro ).. before it is tanned ( curtido) it´s called hide",  so a tanned hide becomes leather. Also the reference about the amount of beef (cow meat) contained in a burger.

3- George can get a free “Save the tiger” poster by presenting a card at any Exxon gas station (petrol station).

1- I might go there
2- My back´s killing me
3- Got a filing cabinet on the half of your ass..

    What are those?

Why, at the end (from: on) after shaking hands with Jerry,

George charges for Kramer´s throat..
what did Kramer say that set George off?

Cantar junto também ajuda: I can see clearly now

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me down
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day

Oh yes I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day

Look all around there's nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead there's nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
Bri-ri-ri-ri-right
Bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
Oh yeah
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day
It's gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day.

Ohhh oooo!
The dance hall has to ram, the dance hall has to ram
It has to ram in a style and fashion
The nation has to jam, the nation has to jam
We gonna jam in a style and pattern
Because is I, Papa Winnie, on the microphone stand
The people doesn't know where I really come from
Me tall, me no short, me slim, me not fat
And everytime I rap, me say the crowd hear me say

You are my sunshine my only sunshine
You make me happy, when skies are gray
You never know, Dear, how much I love you
So please don't take my sunshine away

You are the woman, and I am the man
And everything we do, jah knows we do it real strong
We are just modeling up the dance hall, in a style and fashion
Me and my girl, her name is Liana
The talk of the town, is that we have two babies, twins
One of them fat and one of them slim
We call them Rootsie, Rootsie,
Rootsie and Boopsie*, Rootsie, Rootsie, Rootsie and Boops

You are my sunshine...

Sufferation in the land***, sufferation in the land
**** Killing all my natian Lord I can't understand
Famine in the land, tribulation getting strong
They always have a plan to fool we Africans
Creating war in the East
War in the West
War inthe North
And war in the South
If love were a thing that money can buy
The rich man would live, and the poor man would die

You are my sunshine...

* dancehall has to ram = gênero de música popular Jamaicana.tem que "arrebentar"
** Rootsie and Boopsie: apelido dos filhos de Papa Winnie

The point is, at least the Chinese are making an effort to learn a foreign language despite of its cultural barriers and demographically, it's difficult to pick up English. Before you make any ignorant racist comments, let me reiterate this: can you even speak Chinese?

We should always learn from each other to enhance cultural exchange. The Chinese are trying their best to learn from the world. Isn't it good if others can learn from the Chinese language and culture?
